The story of Forturus

Forturus® was born from years spent in the mountains, in the cold, and in situations where mistakes have real consequences. It wasn't conceived at a desk, but shaped during snowstorms, nights in a tent, and trips where you can't just "turn back."

We help individuals and families become self-reliant during the first 72 hours

About us

Forturus® was built on one question: would you bring this with you if things could really go wrong? If the answer isn't a resounding "yes," it doesn't belong in our kits. No toys, no gimmicks, just robust, well-designed gear that you can easily use even under pressure.

Our roots lie in mountains and Arctic conditions, but the real risks are often closer to home. A large-scale power outage that disables heating, ATMs, and communications. Extreme weather that blocks roads and delays emergency services. Floods, wildfires, or a chemical incident that forces you indoors. A massive pileup or winter storm that leaves you stuck on the highway for hours. In those first 24 to 72 hours, you often have to make do with what you have with you or at home. That's why we build gear that keeps you warm, hydrated, light, informed, and provides basic care until the rest of the world catches up. Be ready. Always.

16 years of experience

We are Forturus.

One of Forturus' founders served sixteen years in the Marine Corps, specializing in Mountain Leader and mountain and arctic survival instructor, in addition to a childhood spent rock climbing, alpine climbing, and backcountry skiing. In recent years, our team has been venturing into the mountains together: multi-day hikes with just a tent and limited gear, paragliding, or winter treks. There, we test what works, and especially what doesn't. After all, we want to know how we can make a real difference for our customers.

From urban power outages to heavy storms, from traffic jams and breakdowns to off-grid adventures, we develop and select robust equipment that's ready when life doesn't go as planned.
